Tea time @ The Bristol – Wien

I knew that you could go in bar or restaurant in hotel without having a room in it, so at the end of the afternoon, tired of walking all around and before going back in the underground we decided to go in one…

The advantages of taking a coffee break or a afternoon tea in a hotel bar is mostly that hotel are really quiet place so after a busy time it’s really nice to stop relax an enjoy silence before going back to the busy flow…

I would add that in those kind of place service and deco are always a must…

The green tea is particularly nice, perfumed with herbs and very sweet… and an amazing collection of herbal tea and infusion…

Österreichische Nationalbibliothek – Wien

And taddaaaa !!!

I don’t know you but i can totally see me working on that desk… the place is so inspiring 🙂

No, that’s not the best way to suicide an horse but the best to make him cross the river…. Yes, me too, i’m doubtful… 🤔
In middle age, strangers were so strange that they were represent with animal heads probably indicating where they’re from !? So here it’s not an alien from a doggy planet but just a stranger !
The world has thought in 1507.

Wien : a glimpse

Was ist das ?

When you see those two big towers you first think that they are a kind of water or energy related tower, which they’re totally not, they are relics of the second world war fortifications in other word : blockhaus.

Most of the blockhaus i know or that we usually see are on the beaches half trapped in sand or under a lot of vegetation lost in fields, not bluntly scorching the eyes in the middle of a modern city where most of them have been destroyed. But here they stand as immuable reminders of the dark years of the third reich. They’re call Flak tower (flak is an acronym for some german huge defensive anti-aircraft reinforce-concrete tower).

They just begins to be re-used, one now hosts a zoological collection “The house of the sea”, we must not forgot that, primarily they were supposed, after the war, to be covered in marble and gold as memorials and reminders of the german triumph…Lucky for us they’re now in ruins !

What’s up with their separate duvet !?

Surprise !

The first time i saw it in Berlin i thought it was a mistake but a second time, it can’t be. So One duvet per person, i see the point that’s kind of more democratic… but how the hell am i gonna keep my feet warm during the night ?!

“TOG” used here in the wordplay, is the way you find the thickness of a duvet in the UK, as you can see below :

I always take king or super king beddings for my queen sized bed, so I have plenty of duvet space to roll in and an access to my significant other for any kind of reheating lol

More info here.

And some really don’t care about duvet as long as there is one !

Apartment Park Augarten – Wasnergasse 19 – Wien

Berlin to Wien

Walk [the dog] down memory lane

We walk globule a little bit every where we can but it’s the first time we walk her on historic grounds… Along the Bernauer Straße, that street famous for escapes from windows of apartment blocks in the eastern part of the city, down to the street, which was in the West.

What’s that? More stones?…. muh…

Here a map of the memorial with is situated along the way of the Bernauer Straße.

In segment D of the street

Oderberger Straße view from Mauer park on Berlin West, in 1968.
And the same view in 1989.
